IT IS SAD to see one right get trampled in the defence of other rights.
J. Macklin (Letters, May 1) is of course entitled to criticise Mr Mandle's article on abortion.
But not content with criticism and the strong arguments presented, J. Macklin calls on your newspaper to censor him.
Neither Mr Mandle nor J. Macklin should be censored. It is clear that they both hold views representative of substantial proportions of the population.
Neither side of this (nor any other) argument should be suppressed.
The Canberra Times is to be congratulated for facilitating this debate.
