I didn&#8217;t realise this until I switched on the system to find &#8216;Gilligan&#8217;s Island&#8217; showing instead.<\/p>\n<p>And, wow, how awful was the picture from &#8216;Gilligan&#8217;s Island&#8217;? Okay, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0588082\/\">particular episode<\/a> dates from 1965, so you can&#8217;t expect too much. But this <em>was <\/em>too much: incredibly soft, and with this slightly weird colour, with too frequent off-colour fringes on the edges of characters; eg. see Thurston Howell III&#8217;s chin, nose and forehead (cropped, not scaled):<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hifi-writer.com\/wpblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/gilligan1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2732\" title=\"Gilligan's Island capture\" src=\"http:\/\/hifi-writer.com\/wpblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/gilligan1.jpg\" alt=\"Gilligan's Island capture\" width=\"500\" height=\"313\" srcset=\"http:\/\/hifi-writer.com\/wpblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/gilligan1.jpg 500w, http:\/\/hifi-writer.com\/wpblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/gilligan1-300x187.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then the reason became clear. Pretty horrible job they did of it.
