These are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0055928\/\"><em>Dr. No<\/em><\/a> (1962) (the first 007, with Sean Connery)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0057076\/\"><em>From Russia With Love<\/em><\/a> (1963)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0059800\/\"><em>Thunderball<\/em><\/a> (1965)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0070328\/\"><em>Live and Let Die<\/em><\/a> (1973) (Roger Moore&#8217;s first one)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0082398\/\"><em>For Your Eyes Only<\/em><\/a> (1981)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0246460\/\"><em>Die Another Day<\/em><\/a> (2002) (Pierce Brosnan&#8217;s last one)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;ve already watched the first two and the picture quality is brilliant. <em>Dr. No<\/em>, for example, was derived from the original negative and then put through the Lowry process, which takes a 4K (4,096 pixel wide) digital scan for the source and then applies an enormous amount of digital image restoration through hundreds of networked computers and hundreds of terabytes of storage.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, you can judge the results for yourself with my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hifi-writer.com\/he\/bdreviews\/drno.htm\">Blu-ray\/DVD comparison here<\/a>. Here&#8217;s a taste, with Ursula Andress&#8217; famous entrance:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"margin-top: 3px; margin-bottom: 3px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hifi-writer.com\/he\/bdreviews\/graphics\/drnocomp2.jpg\" alt=\"Dr. No comparison\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The original Australian PAL DVD to the left, the new Blu-ray to the right. Note: there is considerable cropping of the DVD source, so I haven&#8217;t blown this up quite as much as I normally would.
