Inappropriate laughter?

No, very much appropriate, despite the every-human-life-is-of-equal-value twerps that abound. Fortunately this doesn’t seem to be a problem in Taiwan. If you’re saddened by Bin Laden’s death, don’t watch this clip. It is highly offensive to all, especially Muslims. I’m neither saddened nor offended.

Update 4 May: Sorry, as Chris notes in comments, this clip has been made ‘Private’, whatever that means. As far as I can see, you can’t play it even if you log onto YouTube. Pity.

    Hi Stephen,
It seems that this clip has been made “private”, and you now need to log in to YouTube (and have permission) to see it. Shame, would have been interesting to see.

Did you happen to catch South Park on SBS last monday night (02/05/2011)? This particular episode finishes with Osama Bin Laden being shot in the head. Life imitating art??? I wonder if SBS fast tracked the screening of this episode before wowsers could complain about it (ie the Bloody Mary episode).

I think it was just fortuitous scheduling. This was Episode 14#9. The previous week was 14#8 (‘Poor and Stupid’). However they did skip the controversial episodes 14#5 and 14#6 (‘200’ and ‘300’). Instead, they went straight to 14#7, ‘Crippled Summer’, which features a disabled by being raped by a shark.

I love these Taiwanese animations. They do them all the time concerning world events. This is by far their best work yet 🙂

At lunchtime I was thinking of a simple flash shooting game with Osamas head randomly popping out from behind his wife. You get points hitting him, lose them hitting his wife.

I am aghast at the reflex reaction of condemnation from some quarters, such as those guests on Q&A. I wouldn’t dance on anyone’s grave, even Osama’s, but can’t the US be allowed a moment of hubris? Osama threw a greal pall over the americans and I would expect them to be celebratory about his demise.
